Explore Loch Ness, Inverness & the Historic Cawdor Castle

This is our longest established and very popular tour.
Taking the route south overlooking the historic market town of Dingwall, and onward to spend some time in the beautiful Highland village of Beauly, with it’s unique little retail outlets, and it’s ancient ruined priory.

On leaving Beauly the tour will proceed along a minor rural route, before arriving on the western shore of world famous Loch Ness for a photo stop.

The tour will then take you north alongside the loch, across the Caledonian Canal, and into the small Scottish Highland capital city of Inverness, where you will have 90 minutes on your own to take in many of the local sights, take a look in some fascinating shops, and perhaps have some lunch in one of many fine local eateries.

On reboarding the tour bus / coach you will travel east out of the city, and over the bleak and wild open space that is Culloden Moor, past the site of the historic Battle of Culloden, before arriving at the splendid Cawdor Castle. You will have 75 minutes to explore the castle, romantically linked by William Shakespeare with Macbeth. The castle remains an intact fortified house, and remains home to the current generation of the Cawdor family.

After feeling the history of the castle all around you, your tour will return north to your ship at Invergordon.

Just don’t forget your camera!
